WRITING OF MEMORY
I use photographs, archival documents and excerpts from letters from my family’s vast German Jewish archive to create a series of charcoal stop-motion animations. These visualise, re-imagine and illustrate family stories, which covers the trenches of the First World War, bourgeois life in Germany, the holocaust and escape and life in South Africa and beyond.
